International Conference on Functional Materials - 2026 is a continuation of the ICFM series of conference, organized by Materials Science Centre, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. This is a continuation of a successful ICFM series preceded by editions in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2020, 2022 and 2024. Although relatively young, the conference has seen a great footfall of researchers from all spheres of materials science, encompassing both academia and industry. We anticipate a vibrant exchange among the participants over the three days of the conference on a plethora of materials including (but not limited to!) energy materials, electronic materials, photonic materials, magnetic materials, membranes and applications, carbon and related materials, nanomaterials along with computational modelling and data-driven design of functional materials.

At the outset, the primary objective of this conference is to exchange knowledge among researchers, practising engineers, technologists about the state-of-the-art in functional materials and their applications. Materials Science Centre, IIT Kharagpur extends a wholehearted welcome for your participation at ICFM-2026.
